Airpods Max Sound Quality on MacOs

My Airpods Max sound quality is horrible on MacOs. They sound great on my iPhone and iPad. I have heard other people suggest removing the Airpods as the default input device (this is not ideal since I also use them for Zoom meetings and would have to remember to adjust the settings), but that didn't work anyway. I am using a M1 MacBook Pro but have also had the same issue with my old intel version. This is a huge inconvenience.

Hi Millertime6,

We understand you're having issues with the audio on your AirPods. We're happy to offer some guidance.

You'll want to make sure the software on your computer is up to date: Update macOS on Mac

You can also try turning the Bluetooth off and back on to refresh the connection: Turn Bluetooth on or off on Mac

You'd also want to test safe mode, to see if you have the same issues there: How to use safe mode on your Mac

If you're still having issues with the audio quality, we'd recommend contacting Apple for assistance: Get Support

Hope this helps. Cheers!
