Red blinking dot on camera

I was on YouTube at 10:30 at night. And I had my phone faced down on my pillow listening to ASMR to try and fall asleep. And the video ended, so I went to pick up my phone and noticed this red blinking light. So I searched it up and saw other people saying it was detecting your face, or record audio, but my phone was faced down. So it couldn’t have captured my face. However I was talking to myself, but I was on YouTube listening to ASMR. So was my phone recording my audio while I was on YouTube??

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you’re seeing a red flashing light on your iPhone. We’re happy to help.

Since this happened with the front-facing camera on your iPhone, this could be related to Face ID as that technology does use a depth map and infrared image to authenticate, so please see this Apple resource for more info on this:
