Timer on XR does not ring

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Wondering which iOS version is installed on your XR iPhone.

Eg: In iOS15

Use the timer or stopwatch on iPhone

1. 1. Tap Timer.
   2. Set the duration of time and a sound to play when the timer ends.
   3. Tip: If you want to fall asleep while playing audio or video, you can set the timer to stop the playback. Tap When Timer Ends, then tap Stop Playing at the bottom.
   4. Tap Start.

The timer continues even if you open another app or if iPhone goes to sleep.

You might want to check if your phone is in "Silent" mode.
