When I try to sign in to my Apple ID , it says verification failure, that my Apple ID is not active. How do I resolve this?

When I try to sign in to my Apple ID , it says verification failure, that my Apple ID is not active. How do I resolve this? I had to create a different Apple ID to be able to post this question on this forum. My phone is signed in to the Apple ID with the problem. Someone please help.

Get Support      -    Work through the screens to get a chat option. You may have to pick a slightly different problem.
