Couple sharing keys with AirTag

My wife’s and I share a set of keys for our vehicle, and there is an AirTag attached to the keys and it is registered with my iPhone. We each have our own iPhones with individual iCloud accounts. If my wife takes the car out (with the keys), she will get an alert indicating there is an unknown tracker with her. Her options are to pause the notification, or completely turn off the feature that would alert her to any tracker. She would need to pause the alert each time she takes the car. Neither of these are acceptable. Is there a way to “trust” a tracker that is not associated with your id, or are there plans to integrate AirTags with family sharing?

At present, AirTags can only be associated with one AppleID.
