I was told by Apple Support that in order to get service on my Mac Pro at the Genius Bar I would have to have the receipt, otherwise it’s obsolete and it can’t be fixed.

It is complicated to turn on in the past but now it gets stuck at Utilities.

Shutdown the computer and disconnect all external devices. Connect to charger. Restart and immediately hold the Shift key until the Apple Logo is presented then release.


The Safe Mode will load slowly - normal. This may or may not allow the upgrade process to complete.


Did the MacBook Air have the required empty space. Apple has outlined as Requiring 29 GB of Empty Space for a successful installation.
