How to play an old (2009) idvdproj film on bigsur Imac

Is this a .idvdproj file or a video DVD crested with iDVD? If the former give this a try:


Control (right) - click on the .idvdproj file and select show contents. Then look in the resources folder or any other folder for the movie file you added to the project. You should be able to copy it to the Desktop and play with Quicktime Player.


However, there may only be a link to the original movie file on the hard drive in the project so you would have to find the source file that was used.


If it's a video DVD open it up on the desktop and look for the .VOB files in the Video_TS folder. You can play them with Quicktime Player or the free VLC app. Best to copy them to the Desktop before trying to play.
