trying to set iphone 6 plus to factory settings and screen does not accept touch and cannot put in password

Have an old Iphone 6 plus and am looking to reset it to the factory settings. Problem is that I cannot use the touch screen to put in the password. The screen has been changed and is still having problems. Is there anyway to reset it without putting in the password? I have tried on itunes and I need to unlock it but can't. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Log in to iCloud.com
  2. Open Find iPhone
  3. Tap the green circle that represents your iPhone
  4. Tap the info sign
  5. Erase iPhone
