How to prevent remote screen recording or mic activation

Some websites when accessed through Safari trigger the red banner at the top of the screen that indicates screen recording or microphone is active. I have never used or wanted to use screen recording and checked that in Safari’s permissions microphone is set to deny. How can I prevent such sites from recording me without consent. Alternatively, does the red bar (the one with WiFi, time, battery, etc, not an internet tab) indicate something else when using Safari? An example image is attached.

Thank you, glad to know it is not something I’m missing. Still, a silly design choice- if Apple communicates device status (GPS, phone on, mic on) to the user through blue/green/red headings on the top bar, it is a very questionable practice to allow websites access to color it for their own aesthetics. Thanks again.

Hey There 🙋🏽‍♂️

I can see that you’re slightly confused by the design of the sites. They have no permission nor the capability to start recording you, this is basically just the layout/design of those websites. To show you more clearly here is a screenshot of the same website on my iPhone.

Hope this explains it !

Best,

Aryan
