Is it possible to create a second, separate iCloud email account?

I want to create a separate iCloud email account so that specific emails flow in and out of that account. An alias is not the answer as I've tested it and it flows into my current me.com mailbox. Can I do this with a single Apple ID, or do I need a different Apple ID for that account?

You can create a completely different iCloud Email but it will by definition be a separate Apple ID in and of itself.
You will not be able to sign in to it on your devices except as an email account unless you remove your other Apple ID first.
