No reliable way to hide or make apps private in IOS 15

I come from over 10 years as an android user, and while being used to options like Secure Folder, Apps locking apps and the ability to simply hide apps out of sight in the OS, this seems unachieveable in a reliable way on iOS. I need sensitive apps to stay out of sight or to not be useable without a passcode, preferably both.

  • For some unknown reason, every single app for locking content out of sight in the AppStore only hides pictures and mediafiles, not apps. The apps that claim to lock apps don’t work.

  • Screen time, downtime allows whitelist and blacklist of apps. This could’ve worked, but instead it gives the user an option to “ignore” and use apps anyways. There seems to be no option to fix this issue, which makes this functionality seem like a gimmick.

  • Screen time allows blocking out apps based on age restrictions. But, since I cannot set agelimits for apps myself, and the apps I want to block won’t disappear until I set limit to 9+, this function blocks me from using the majority of apps on my phone while it is on. Also, when turned off, it hasn’t saved my previous Home Screen layout, it places apps randomly, and I have to place everything back again. To ad to that, the apps I wanted out of sight are also placed in the home screen.
  • Apps in question in this case can be logged into but not logged out from. If there was an option to reset its data and settings to force a login screen when opened, that would’ve been great. But there’s another functionality iOS doesn’t quite have. I can remove some data/unload but it doesn’t really do the trick. I can reinstall the app, but when I do it reveals itself first under “recently added” and it’s category in the App Library. Basically saying, “hello, here I am” loud and clear. Means I always need the app uninstalled when in use, and reinstalled constantly, a little inconvenient I might say.

Thanks to the fact that iOS does not provide a simple-straightforward solution to app privacy that works reliably, android still has a foot in the door for me. I like this iPhone, I really want it to work but being able to control my phones privacy in the ways mentioned above is an absolute requirement. I’m sure I cannot be the only one baffled by the feeling that it seems like iOS “doesn’t want me to have this”.

I hope my feedback leads to some awareness around this and some changes. Android got the solutions I need, but I want my iPhone to provide this, not some android phone.
