I have a brand new (just received today) 2021 MacBook Air and tried the below instructions to set my Memoji as my login photo, but when I click edit on the photo, Memoji is not an option on the sidebar. Anyone know why this is?

I updated from Big Sur to Monterey and the option showed up! :)

I don't know why it doesn't work, but it wouldn't be the first time Macrumors suggested a feature would exist that never did. I never depend on that site for actual features. If you want to issue a bug report asking for that feature to be considered, you can at http://bugreporter.apple.com/
Thanks, but I’ve already created Memoji and it shows on my iCloud and stuff. I’m trying to add it to my login icon on the MacBook Air. :)
