Why can't I play new music on iTunes or upload files to GarageBand? I just noticed this today but it was working just fine last month in October. I use my laptop to edit audio on GarageBand and submit for a podcast.

What happens when you try to add the media? Do you get an error message? Are you following these steps to Import audio and MIDI files in GarageBand on Mac?
Which macOS are you currently running on your Mac? Do you have any updates available? It's possible that you may want to try to update to try to resolve this issue: Update macOS on Mac

Nothing happens when I drag the file into GarageBand-- normally it just appears right away. I was told by Apple Support that my MacBook is considered "vintage" now. I got it in 2014 and it's version 10.13.6
He suggested reaching out on here for help.
