iPhone remote and Apple Watch remote not working properly after last update.

Ever since the latest update, my iPhone remote loses connection with my Apple TV. It stays disconnected for a good amount of time (10-15 minutes) then allows me to connect again. I have rebooted everything multiple times, but I’m still having this issue. My apple watch will not even connect to the Apple TV and says to make sure I’m close enough ( I am). Please help!

As the software remote functionality works through the home network (Wi-Fi), consider sources of interference there. Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

If it’s was that then this would have been a problem before but it just started this recently

Exactly. It was working without fail before the last update for both the iPhone remote and the Apple Watch. Now the iPhone remote rarely works and the Apple Watch NEVER works.
