You can tap and hold on the link -> select download linked file.
This will download it as a .pkpass file, which you cannot open on an iPad, but you can then send it to your iPhone to open.
The Wallet App is unique to iPhone - and is not available to iPad devices. Without an iPhone, you’ll not be able to use electronic ticketing.

As you have both iPad and iPhone, have you tried adding your tickets to your wallet? You are perhaps best placed in this instance to verify what actually happens when you try to add tickets to your iPhone Wallet from an iPad.
If your “tickets”have been received via email, you have nothing to lose in trying. No matter what happens, you will still have your email - and can add items to your iPhone Wallet from iPhone Mail.
I understand that Apple Wallet is not on the iPad. However, Apple makes links between Apple devices. If I get an email and am using my iPad to read it, and if that email has a “Save to Wallet” link, can I press that link on the iPad and have the ticket go into Apple Wallet or does it go into the cyber world never to be seen again?
No, this is not possible as iPads do not have the Wallet App.
