Start here: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/welcome/ios. You can also download the user guide in the iBooks app. It will be listed by iOS version 15.

Not helpful in the least. I have no idea how to do anything and you don't even have a short ma dual to download and why would you not include a manual in the iPhone box. To spend a thousand dollars no no directions is unconscionable . I hate my new iPhone because I have no idea how to use I t and Apple is zero help.

kb provided a link to the user guide. Use it. Also, if you have in fact been using iPhones before, then the 13, works pretty much the same as those. General usage has not changed at all. It still works like many previous iPhones have.

The first time setup, even guides you step by step.

In an effort to preserve the environment Apple chose many years ago, to not include a physical user guide with their devices. This is not new. All your other iPhones did not include a user guide either, and you managed to learn to use them without one.

Ridiculous you don't include an instruction manual with my new iPhone 13. I have no idea how to use the stupid thing, and I've had iPhones for many, many years and knew right away how to use it, with this one, no idea at all.

No one here speaks for Apple. This is a user-to-user forum. Apple hasn't included manuals in the box for at least 10 years. But, as muguy said, the iPhone 13 is not incredibly different. Unless, of course you're switching from an iPhone 4.

This forum is also an excellent source of advice. Ask as many questions as you want. As long as you're polite, people here are very patient.

Apple has not included any user guide in any phone for several years now. I provided the online link to the user guide. The basic phone function has not changed with how to send and receive calls. If you are having this much difficulty with the phone, I would suggest that you go back to the store where you got it and have someone go over the basic use of it. Or, reconsider if an iPhone is what you need.

It is not ridiculous at all. As new operating systems and updates come out, new features are added. If your phone had been sitting on the store shelf for a while and it came with a printed manual, if a new OS came out it would not show the new features.

This way by downloading the latest user manual, you are assured knowing the newest features.

Apple isn't the only one doing this, many electronic devices on the market make you download the manual.

I just got an iPhone and no directions on how to use it.
