Apple calendar email alerts

How do I stop receiving emails for every event I set on my apple calendar? I’ve turned off event alerts in the calendar app and turned off my calendar notifications in my settings but I still get the emails. When i go to create a new event it shows the alerts crossed off, but I still get the emails.

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Just to confirm, are you using these exact steps to create a calendar event? Create and edit events in Calendar on iPhone


Is this occurring when creating events in a shared iCloud calendar? Share iCloud calendars on iPhone
