find your mail password

I am unable to log onto my work email via the web (it is a gmail account) as I have forgotten the password. I have been using my apple mail app since the password is saved on it but I would really like to know the password. Based on the restrictions of the account, I cannot just reset the password. Is there a way to find the password from my apple mail app as it is saved through that? I have looked through the keychain and it is not there.
