Cannot get Google Drive to work on macOS Big Sur

I'm stuck in an infinite loop between

Google Drive "Sign in with browser"

Choose an account to continue to Google Drive for desktop

Success! You've signed into Google Drive

Google Drive is loading your files - OK

"Google Drive needs your approval to load your files" ... "Open Security & Privacy settings"

"Can't load a----rg@gmail.com" "To load a----rg@gmail.com, disconnect the account and sign in again"

Running Big Sur 11.6.

I've documented this problem in a screenshot video. (Please excuse the word turds -- I needed a rhyme.)

Please help.

Thanks

Arthur

Did you verify that Google Drive is not somehow blocked in those system preferences? It may be Chrome itself that is not checked.

Thanks for your reply a brody.

I do not see an entry for "Google Drive" in "System Preferences" - "Security & Privacy" - "Privacy". Does that answer your question "Did you verify that Google Drive is not somehow blocked in those system preferences?"?

What do you mean by "It may be Chrome itself that is not checked."?
