Hi, I am planning to get a new iPhone and transfer my data using Quick Start option. What I want to know is that does this option transfer the app data as well or not? Primarily, will all of my WhatsApp data be moved to my new phone.
P.s. My WhatsApp data is more than the iCloud storage so I want to transfer WhatsApp data without using iCloud. Please tell. Thanks

If you use the ➔ Quick Start method successfully, then everything that is on your old iPhone will transfer to your new iPhone. This includes apps and the associated app data. The good thing is that once the transfer is complete, then the data remains on the old iPhone as well.

If you are using and storing Whatsapp data on iCloud and will be using iCloud on your new iPhone, then all Whatsapp data will be synced. If you are not using iCloud to backup Whatsapp (old iPhone), then the data will transferred from your old iPhone to your new iPhone.
Remember, you will still have all your data intact on your old iPhone should something go wrong and you have to try again.

That’s great but will WhatsApp still require iCloud for data restoration or not? Because one of my friends used the Quick Start method but his WhatsApp data was not transferred instead, on the new phone it showed WhatsApp data is being restored from iCloud. So could you please confirm? Thanks
