If you have a previous Apple TV then upgrading to a 4K model will ensure it can output the higher resolution, support HDR and Atmos. If you are switching from a smart TV then most find that it will work much better due to the processor, support and even better usability when used with other Apple products. Ultimately, only you can make the decision as to whether it warrants a purchase so see if you can take a trip to an Apple store or you can always buy it and return it if it doesn't see your needs.
