Limiting volume on iPad speakers

More of a response than a question. Many people may have an autistic child like me who love to stim by placing their iPad very close to their ear whilst listening to music at full volume. Like me, you will probably be worried about them damaging their own hearing. You will probably have looked for ways to turn the volume down only for your child to work out how to turn it up again. Like me, your iPad is probably in a protective case. Answer to this problem is cheap and simple. Think low tech. Simply take the iPad out of its protective case (we use otter box) and apply two small pieces if clear sellotape to cover approximately three quarters of each speaker grille. You lose a bit of high frequency out of the speakers but it does effectively reduce the volume the iPad puts out. Once back in your protective case, your child is unlikely to notice the sellotape (though they will probably notice their iPad us a bit quieter). I hope this simple but effective tip helps someone.
