Why does iPhone tell me Unknown Accessory Detected for my own AirPods Pro

Recently my iPhone has been reporting Unknown Accessory Detected, but it’s detecting my own AirPods Pro that I’m using while walking to listen on the very same iPhone?! I’ve tried resetting my AirPods Pro, re-signing into Apple, disconnecting them and re-connecting. But nothing stops my iPhone from reporting them as an unknown accessory. If I try and get more details I’m told that Find My is Unavailable and it’s unable to connect to the server.
