How to spot a fake macbook pro charger?

I was recently having issues with my computer turning on, and needed a quick answer so I brought my 2015 Macbook pro to a non-apple repair shop. They told me the reason I was having troubles with my computer is because of my charger and they gave me a new one. The charger they gave me did not come in a box, nor did it come with the extension cable. When I went to plug it in, it kept sparking in numerous outlets making me think that this was a fake. Upon doing some research I noticed that there's no serial code on the charger, and when I plug the Magsafe charger into my computer the light automatically turns on without lag (apparently this is a sign of a fake). The place never gave me back my old charger so I cant make any comparisons. I have attached a picture of the charger. Can someone please let me know if they believe this to be a fake, and if I just wasted $120.
