Siri doesn't know where I am

I have a new iMac desk top with m1 chip. I have turned on location services for Siri. I have checked the time zone settings in date and time. The map app is working fine and locates me straight away but nothing I do seems to tell Siri where I am. Can anyone offer a next move.

Hello,

Do you also have Location Based Suggestions turned on in the Privacy Settings?

Change Privacy preferences on Mac - Apple Support

“To see specific system services that use your location, click the Details button at the bottom of the list on the right. To allow the location of your Mac to be used by Siri Suggestions and Safari Suggestions, select Location-Based Suggestions.”

I hope this helps.
