Apple Pay charges

I’m confused about using the Apple Card for purchases. I previously cancelled the wallet Apple Card option bc Apple was charging me for purchases that were deducted from my bank immediately after my purchase. I get the $3.99 monthly charge just to use it but I don’t get having to repay charges already deducted from my account. Is anyone else experiencing this issue.
