I’ve checked the Apple user website and the method they advise (pressing the home and power buttons simultaneously — which worked before an iOS update) no longer works. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
Nope. I finally found it… someone wrote: hold the sleep/wake button, then the home button. And that worked great!

It should still work. You need to press and release fairly quickly; and sometimes it helps to press Home slightly before Power.
