This problem seems to have first started around April 2021, but I only recently started experiencing issues with loading new emails. Also, for some reason iCloud is not correctly opening what mailbox was last used. Anyone still having issues?

Thanks for the info, I deleted the mail app and reinstalled it and it works great!
