You pay extra for iCloud storage.
iPhone storage can never be increased.

Because your phone storage is full, not your rented cloud storage. It is not possible to add storage space to an iPhone.

Carefully read and understand the article I linked above. Recognize these photos and videos are almost certainly occupying space both in iCloud and your iPhone.
One additional thought - always be certain your iPhone has an absolute minimum of 10% of its storage space free. This is required so your iPhone has some working storage.

So what am I paying extra for if it’s not allowing me to even take pictures of videos?
Because you don’t understand the difference between phone storage and iCloud storage.
You didn’t answer my question in the slightest.
my question was quite straight forward… I asked what am I paying extra for if it’s not allowing me to take pictures and videos.
Obviously this is my main issue with storage, and clearly I was under the impression that paying for extra iCloud would allow me to have more storage for this.
if this is not the case I would greatly appreciate someone explaining to me what the extra iCloud storage is for, If not pictures and videos.
I have read all the responses.
I have also took many steps to free up space before coming on here for advise.
deleted apps
deleted emails
deleted messages
deleted over 1000 pictures and videos, however, my iPhone storage is still saying full.
now I am at a loss. I was hoping someone would be able to explain in simple terms the difference between the two.
instead I have been made out to be stupid by certain people who have replied.
I don’t know the full ins and outs of the technical side of phones etc… I use my devise for all the basics. messages, phone calls, pictures, social media etc…
I have read through the links that I’ve been sent but still don’t fully understand how it all works or how I resolve the problem.

You asked:
So what am I paying extra for if it’s not allowing me to even take pictures of videos?
You asked that AFTER stedman1 hogave you a complete and correct answer. 20 minutes after stedman1 answered your question you posted So what am I paying extra for if it’s not allowing me to even take pictures of videos? So either you didn’t read stedman1’s answer or you didn’t understand it.
The answer is that if you DID read and understand stedman1’s answer you would never have asked that question. And sberman also already explained the difference, so I didn’t see the point in repeating what they had already posted.
Exactly, so you know why I asked the question. Because I didn’t understand it even after I had read the link.
Like I just said your comment wasn’t helpful, you didn’t try and explain further. Therefore your reply was unnecessary…

So what am I paying extra for if it’s not allowing me to even take pictures of videos?
Clearly I don’t Lawrence.
Hence why I am on here trying to find out…
Your reply was as helpful as a bin bag with a hole in the bottom.
I answered the question you asked. If you meant to ask a different question you should have. However, sberman’s post might be the answer to the question you meant to ask.
If you read all of the responses that you have been provided, sberman provided you with a link to clearly explain the difference between iCloud storage and iPhone storage. You already had the answer.
Thankyou for your help.
I will try and go to my nearest Apple store and ask for help there and hopefully they can explain and show me how to do all this.
thanks again, greatly appreciated
