Why did the new update mess up my phone?

When I down loaded to ios15.1 my iPhone stopped working in my car for music via usb… I’ve looked around online for fixes, I’ve bought a brand new charger to use as well and nothing works, everything I find says the update is the issue… how do I go back too an older version of iOS? And when is the next update for iOS going to be?? It worked before the update just fine. I don’t know why a newer version of iOS messes with my phone… fix your issues.

You cannot downgrade to an older iOS version. What can do (If you have not already) is Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

Press and quickly release Volume UP button
Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
