Macbook air M1 starts to lag when charger is plugged in or out

I finally found a thread that raised this problem (I have been looking all year), but I am unable to add to it; the thread can be found at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252888610?answerId=255638264022#255638264022.

I've had my MacBook M1 Air since last December; pretty much every time I plug or unplug the charger the M1 MacBook Air starts to lag. This has been happening since I purchased my MacBook in December 2020. It either "corrects itself" after 10-15 minutes, or I am, more often than not, forced to reboot my computer (which clears the issue).

Initially, I hoped the issue might resolve itself with the early updates to macOS Big Sur (I am currently running version 11.3.1). This was not the case. Since then, due to lockdowns and border restrictions where I live, I have not been able to get to my nearest Apple shop to deal directly with one of your representatives directly.

The two people in the thread I linked to above describe my experience exactly - I actually have nothing further to add to their description of the issue. As it's now clear that there are a number of people having the EXACT same symptoms, I'm guessing this is probably a known issue somewhere within Apple.

Does anybody have any insight into what is causing this issue, and how it can be resolved? Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.3
