iOS 15.1.1 Battery Drop (worse than 15.1)
I have iPhone 13 Pro Max pre-installed 15.0; it was working brilliantly using all Apple's pre-setup. Then I upgraded to 15.0.1 with no problems. Then I updated to 15.0.2 where I noticed Safari drained my battery and I had to de-install Siri; with a lovely feature of my phone over heating. 15.1 drained my battery by the minute with other Apple APIs and my Camera zooming turned my portrait picture into pastel-pictures. NOW, I have even more Apple APIs with 15.1.1 problems, with NEWs running in the background draining the phone by 12% over night.
New problems with background APIs, these are additional problems post 15.0.1:
- NEWS - I have never activated this API why suddenly is it activated .. it keeps switching ON
- Location - MAPS .. I made sure aligned APIs are switched-off
- Home & Lock Screen - running during the night!!!
- SAFARI drains even more
- Portrait pictures taken inside are awful (iPhone 6 & 11 where much sharper)
- MAIL - it drains the battery by 6% when I just open it for 2 minutes
- CONTACTS - why is this being drained when I have not given any permission to any APIs and they are 'OFF"
- SETTINGS - just checking for 2m drains the battery by 3%
- Portrait Pictures - it has difficulty adjusting to an image with candles (the iPhone 11 on iOS 13 does not)
- BLUETOUTH - it switches on by itself, even though I do no want it ON
- I have had to remove more 3rd party APIs (APPs) than before .. I use to have over 50, now I have 15!!
Another lovely feature, playing music with AirPods Pro for 2 hours will drain the battery by 65%!! before anyone asks, I did check if this was the cause of the BLUETOOTH: I unpaired them to qualify the independence. I have had to switch-off a 3rd party API for VPN, which worked perfectly with 15.0 because it drains the battery per second; it did not work with 15.0.2 & 15.1!
One good news, there is no heating problems.
When I had the use of an iPhone 11, I was able have the AirPods Pro run for hours without the battery glitching.
I am just listing the 'new' challenges I having since my upgrade from 15.1 to 15.1.1! I have called helpdesk multiple times where all the above have been registered with their 'Senior' team; meaning I have had their first line helpdesk unable to explain the problems; I followed all their instructions in regard to cache (even though I know how to manage 'cache' and 'reset').
Thus, community are you having fun with the recent updates. There are some good YouTube events that explain what are the essential features that I used to understand how to switch everything OFF to stop the battery drain; however, this means any time I want use SAFARI I need to manually switch-on, instead of having it all 'ON' with 15.0 & 15.0.1.
I asked helpdesk if I was able to install 15.0, they said 'no'. Unfortunately, if you try to install a backup it will install the latest version!
At this moment my iPhone 13 Pro Max is worse than my old iPhone 6 using the iOS 10.x. My old iPhone 6 took better pictures.
