Since updating to 12.0 all pdf's I drag from an email to desktop become .inetloc - how can I avoid this?

Since upgrading to 12.0 OS, every time I drag a pdf from an email to my desktop, they become .pdf.inetloc files. This has NEVER happened before. Is there anyway to avoid this or is this Apple's newest, dumb procedure? Thanks!!!

Don't drag it...

If you move your mouse to the top of the email— the little icon bar becomes visible:

use the —>Save dialogue by clicking on the paper clip icon

View, save, or delete email attachments in Mail on Mac

I'm unable to duplicate the problem. Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
