People cannot hear me on FaceTime

I just got the new iPhone 13 Pro Max and I keep being told on EVERY FaceTime call that I am on after a couple minutes or seconds my audio goes in and out or the other person cannot hear me at all. My iPad FaceTime worlds fine. They are on the same Wi-Fi connection they are also on the same cellular connection when I am out of the house. This is very annoying and stressful as I use FaceTime as my main method of communication.

Hi, Kiki,

Congratulations on your new iPhone 13 Pro Max! If we understand, you are having trouble using FaceTime with it. On all calls, regardless of what network type, the person you are talking to indicates the audio cuts in and out. We are happy to help!

Based on what you've described, and the fact that your iPad works in the same environments without issue, we recommend trying the following steps on your iPhone:

  1. Close FaceTime: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support and restart your iPhone:Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Check for, and install, any available iOS updates: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  3. Check for, and install, any available carrier settings updates: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  4. Review the "" section of If you can't make a FaceTime call on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support for more information

If you still need help after that, you will need to get in touch with Apple Support directly. You can do that here: Get Support.

Have a wonderful day!
