Milanese Loop Watchband
My Milanese Loop band (18 months old) is losing it's magnetic attachment strength. Is there a way to clean or change the magnet? Or, do I need to replace it. thanks much for any insights!

I was having the same issue with my watch band that I have had for a few years. Look at the magnetic clasp that secures to the band and you will see a rectangular plate. I pushed on my plate an it came loose exposing the interior. I looked inside the magnetic compartment and saw that there was rust. I then took an eyeglass cleaner packet that you use to clean eyeglasses which also has a little rubbing alcohol and cleaned the inner compartment. I then reattached the plate covering the magnet compartment and my problem was solved. I now have to figure out what substance will secure the plate to the magnet compartment. This process is a temporary solution that helps prevent you from replacing this expensive band. Hope it works for you!
Thank you very much. Most helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I did some additional research and found a workable solution. By taking the watch off the band and putting the band in the freezer for 12-24 hours, the atoms in the magnet rearrange and the magnet regains it’s strength. Worked like a charm.
I don’t personally own that band, but I should think you would need to replace it. (The band)
Hi
What was the strength of the magnet when you first bought it? I have tried a generic copy at 1/5 of the price, but the magent is weak to hold the band together. I was wondering, does Apple-branded Milanese loop justified the price?

It was quite strong. And typist Apple high quality and good design. Certainly effect for the first 12-18 months. See my other reply for a trick that helped and good luck with yours.
