No multitask on ipad 10.2 15.1 os

I'm trying to turn off whatever function is allowing me to switch between apps by swiping from the right or left, as I'm playing games that involve swiping. I looked up turning off multifunction but I do not have this option under Home Screen and Dock and I don't have it nor can I find it anywhere. Has this been disabled in 15.1? system was bought yesterday claims to be up to date. Do you switch off this function in another area of the ipad.

Unlike iPadOS14 and earlier versions, multi-tasking cannot now be disabled from settings. Multi-tasking has received a significant overhaul, both simplifying its use and introducing new controls.


Key to accessing and controlling multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” button that is found at the top-centre edge of the screen.
