Which iOS is best for MacBook Air 13?

Can anyone advise me which Mac os is for MacBook Air 13? Just bought one and need to set it up by transferring data from old computer. thanks

What is the year of the Mac? If the Mac is already set up, go to the Apple menu () > About This Mac. If it is not, look for the serial number on the bottom and enter it here: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support. Do not post the serial number.
