I just updated my iPad Pro 11, and after installing iPadOS 15.2.1, I found that an update just appeared in the App Store for the United app. The version used to be 4.1.37, now it is 4.1.38. I installed the update and it opened just fine.
Have you recently updated to iPadOS 15.1? If so, we are seeing multiple reports of in-flight entertainment Apps having issues after this update. At present is it perhaps reasonable to presume that these Apps may require update for full compatibility with the current iPadOS release.
The only difference in my device and yours is that my iPad Pro 11 is a first generation 2018 model, not one of the M1 devices. You need to contact United to work through the issue then. They have to provide support for their app.
I also have this issue on iPad Pro M1. Launch app and goes back to Home Screen. Swipe up on Home Screen to see United app still running in background but when touch or click background app it quits back to Home Screen. Try swipe up again and it is not running. Endless loop. Works fine on iPhone 15.2.1
I am also having the same issue. I have tried everything. Contacted United but so far no help. They did respond asking for my FF number so the can investigate, but haven’t heard from them since. Very frustrated with both Apple and United.
Thanks for your report. Sadly still not working for me. iPad Pro 5th generation M1. iPad is 15.2.1 and latest United app. Also tried deleting and reinstalling app. Also tried reboot
exactly the same with mine.
I downloaded the update but still crashes. Now it doesn’t even run in the background. Sad situation between these two companies. No excuse for this issue.
