Depends. There's no announcement date for iOS 16. But updates for iOS 15 (released less than three months ago) are still happening and the iPhone 7/7 Plus will still be supported. We have no word of when Apple will release updates, but even when there are full versions available, the previous versions have received updates for devices that can't update to the newer full versions. For example, iOS 14.8.1 came out even after iOS 15.0 was available.

15.2 is the latest update. My iPhone says it's up to date with 15.2 and I haven't heard anything about newer version being released.
