my terminal won't allow me type



please I need help with my MacBook-air terminal because the terminal won't let or allow me to type in any input and I don't know what I have done wrong or how to fix it , please any sort advise will help and I will be very grateful .

Check which shell Terminal is set to use when you start a new session: open Terminal, then select Terminal -> Preferences from the top of the screen. Under the General tab, select one of the following options:


  • Default login shell: This should usually work on its own, and is the simplest option. If it doesn't work, use the other option below:


  • Command (complete path): Several shells are available, but I'd recommend using the Z Shell (zsh). It is the default shell in macOS Catalina and later. The path to zsh on your system is: /bin/zsh
