MacBook Pro 2020 M1: Civilization 6 game quits unexpectedly

I have the one of the 2020 m1 chip macbook pros and I keep having problems with civilization 6 closing all the time an hour or less into a game. My graphics are all set to the lowest setting, I'm not playing a huge game, what is going on? Is there any way to fix this?

There have been a few other posts on these forums about issues with Civ6 and other games. Either it is a compatibility issue with Monterey or it is a compatibility issue with the M1 Mac/Rosetta. Games are enough trouble when running on the correct hardware & OS, but when you introduce a new M1 CPU along with requiring Rosetta2 it gets even more complicated and likely a game will have problems. Make sure the game is completely up to date as well as your OS. You will likely need to contact the developer of the game for assistance and check the forums for Civ6 to see if anyone has posted any information about the issue.
