How do I check the status and/or transfer AppleCare to new iPhone?

You cannot transfer AppleCare from one device to another.

You can transfer it to the new owner of the phone: Transfer your AppleCare plan - Apple Support

or you can cancel it for a partial refund and buy a new plan for the new phone: Cancel or change the payment method for your AppleCare plan - Apple Support
