Regional availability may vary. If you look at Apple’s website - and click through the product selection and buying options - you’ll see model availability at individual Apple Stores of your choice.

If instead you are using an Apple Authorised Retailer, you’ll need to check availability with the individual retailer.

Similarly, when using Apple’s Apple Store App, adding the product of your choice to you shopping bag will show you delivery time to your home address - or, again, pickup from the Apple Store of your choice.

Hello ~The Apple Store refurbished devices are great. I could not tell the difference at all. Supported by AppleCare as well…so I found it well done. I understand but right now demand is high and manufacturing is affected by many things. Good luck.

Hello ~ Here in my area you can go into Best Buy and pick up a basic model. So it goes to a fact… regional availability widely differs. Have you considered shopping for a refurbished device in the Apple Store?I see some availability there.

Where are you? I just checked availability and the regular iPad is available for pick up now in my area. Obviously availability will vary by region and the specific configuration you choose. Its a highly sought after device, so yes it's expected for it to be hard to get.
