firewall

I am Macbook user......I looked at my firewall settings and it is turned off....I am not a techie...should a normal user have the firewall on? what setting is recommended?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.5

There is no need for the typical home user to turn on the firewall. It is off by default.

If you're at home behind a good router with wireless security set to WPA2 Personal and a strong password for your LAN you don't need the Firewall to be enabled.


However, if you're out and about using public WiFi networks it would be in your best interest to enable the Firewall.
