Once you purchase and install an Apple TV box is it also necessary to pay a monthly Rate

There no additional charges for the Apple TV box itself, however most of the available content is not free. Fees are charged by the content providers such as Apple TV +, Netflix, Paramount +, Discovery +, Disney + etc....

There is no fee to use the Apple TV box. If you wish to subscribe to Apple TV+ content, there is a subscription fee for that. Same as for any other service provider with whom you do not have an account.

Wow, you were overcharged if you are in the USA!!! New top of the line Apple TV 4K models retail for $199 USD. The Apple TV+ app is only $4.99 per month if that is all that is needed/wanted. Additional content pricing is based on the content provider.

I’m not sure that is correct as we had to purchase an Apple TV Box ( an open box item was approximately $250.00), bring it home and install it. In addition we pay Apple $5.99 per month for usage. Should we require additional features not included there can be add ons. With our plan we watch whatever we want offered on Apple TV. In addition we can invite up to 5 family members to share our plan on any if their Apple devices.
