Authentication error 7005

I’m trying to erase all content on my phone but whenever I put in my password it says authentication error 7005

Cannot fix 2-step authenticator on iphone Error message says "code entered does not match one sent to phone." A common solution is supposed to be fixed by doing time correction sync. When following instructions, I get no prompts for this to be performed. Would like to delete this authenticator altogether. Deleting app off phone doesn't correct anything and neither does turning authenticator off. Desperately need a fix. I'm locked out of the account on which I was using the 2-step authenticator. Help please.
