Mac Mini M1 MGNT3 + P2721Q 4K Dell Monitor

Hello!

Has anyone connected correctly the Mac Mini M1 with the P2721Q 4K Dell monitor?

Especially, I would like to connect the Mac Mini with the monitor through HDMI.

And then also, use the monitors integrated USB Hub.

So that is, connect the monitor with the Mac Mini also though the USB-C cable.

By that, I want to use the monitors USB-A ports, like connecting a printer and speakers.

Yes, in fact it is a good idea to use two cables with the Dell Displays.

You can use a Premium Certified HDMI cable for video and then a USB-C cable for the USB hub.

Or you can use a Certified USB-C to DisplayPort cable for video and a USB-C cable for the USB hub.

Good idea! However, for hub functionality, connect the monitor’s USB C port to the the mini’s USB-A port using a suitable C-A adapter/cable. Do not connect to the mini’s C port as that can lead to mystery issues. The reason is that the Dell can’t tell it’s connected to a power-rebuffing desktop (as opposed to a power-hungry laptop). Additionally, avoid long HDMI cables, use 5’ or less. Good luck!
