The problem has returned from November 2020. Apple ID keeps getting locked for "security reasons". I am sure that I am not the only one. I don't like being strong armed into setting up 2 factor authentication.
Someone may be trying to log into your Apple ID and is entering the wrong password too many times. You might want to change the email address that you use for your Apple ID.
