Canon MG3550 compatibility with iMac M1

I have just taken delivery of the latest iMac model and am trying to connect my Canon MG3550 printer/scanner. The printer works but the scanner does not. Is this a problem of compatibility?

Do I need to get a new printer/scanner as this one is probably 5 years old?

Scanner compatible with M1 processor What Scanners are compatible with my iMac 24' with the M1 processor? I am an artist and want to scan my art into my computer and when i look at all the scanners out there none address the issue of drivers that are compatible with the new M1 processor. Connecting Canon MX870 scanner to MacBook Pro MI (Big Sur) We can print from our M1 MacBooks using our Canon MX870 multi-function printer but cannot access the scanner. We have tried all the suggestions on-line so far without success. Any other ideas? If not, which new multi-function photo printer/scanner is recommended? Thanks

Assuming it's compatible with Monterey (the latest MacOS), you need to get updated drivers/software from the Canon website.
