Iphone 12 mini - Demo version not for resale -

Mydaughter just bought a new iphone 12 mini at an Apple Premium Reseller in the Netherlands.

At home we noticed that it was a “demo version” Not for Resale (new in box). Serialnumer start with 3 and “ demo not for resale” is indicated at the box.

The reseller has now restored the phone and erased the “demo version” so we can restore it as a new setup.

however we are not convinced that we should accept this “former” demo iphone?

what are pro’s but more important are there cons?

What is the apple policy about the selling of these demo phones (by there premium resellers)?
